Covid is a corona virus right?
The common cold is a corona virus as well right?
The common cold has been around forever right?
So why hasn’t the world become immune to it?
No, I’ll answer that, there is no vaccine for it as it constantly mutates.

The flu (Influenza), is caused by a four different influenza virus. It mutates and every year the vaccine is formulated to suit what is around for that year.

Only flu has also been around forever. So why hasn’t the world developed herd immunity by the fact that so many have had the virus? Because that’s not how it works!

The NHS outlines “herd immunity” as when enough people in a community are vaccinated against a disease, making it more difficult for it to spread to susceptible individuals who have not yet been or cannot be vaccinated.
For example with measles, another very transmissible illness, that calls for 98% of people being vaccinated or having had it in the past.

I wish all the worlds ex-spurts would just say that some viruses are NEVER going to go away and claims of herd immunity in double quick time is more of a ex-spurt trying for his or her 5 minutes of fame rather than admit the reality of what is going on in the world.

That being some diseases need everyone vaccinated.
On a regular schedule.
And in terms of a whole country, that will never happen to a politically stated timetable, if at all!

And yet again, despite all the “careful preparations”, there will be a surge in Covid cases, and the inevitable deaths, after the event.

Probably not as only money matters here.
However, I’m pretty certain the politicians will trot out the same well tired and rehearsed sentence when the blame game is played.

It is the fourth “variant of concern” identified by the New and Emerging Respiratory Virus Threats Advisory Group (Nervtag).

The other three were first found in Kent in southern England, South Africa, and Brazil.

Ethnically diverse means, as an example, ethnic African or Asian races, who will both have different gene sets to Westerners. Thus the Covid-19 virus has plenty of ‘scope’ to mutate some more.

Thus we end up with yet another variant.
Sometimes I wonder about the policy of ‘ethnic enrichment’ within the UK.
To introduce something that rarely mixes (say by marriage) with the indigenous population BUT opens avenues for virus mutation does make you think a bit.

Note this is not a disparaging racial comment, just an layman’s observation.

This is why they MUST close down all air travel.

Border Force officers were checking each passenger’s proof of a negative PCR test. The Home Office has insisted that they have ‘the necessary staff’ needed and it is ‘ultimately up to individual airports to ensure social distancing on site’.

Heathrow insisting that ‘social distancing in airport environment isn’t possible’.

IF that is the case, it adds a lot of weight behind my thoughts
that they MUST close down all air travel.

That’s a question being asked by a lot of media today BUT, all of them are skipping around the truth.

So, here goes, with my no way politically correct thoughts.

The government in the shape of Boris Johnson who NEVER CLOSED and never will close OUR BORDERS. That’s how the virus got in, including the later variants, and our own UK version was transmitted to the rest of the world.

Why is our death toll so high?
The government in the shape of Boris Johnson were swayed by a fool of a Oxford University ex-spurt who pushed the totally discredited notion of herd immunity. (Not to mention the cost savings).

Only they are still following that notion, just not publicly.

A senior official at Public Health England (PHE) has revealed that the UK Government is resigned to the same ‘herd immunity’ strategy outlined by the ‘Great Barrington Declaration’, where the distinguished (and publicly discredited by the rest of the world’s scientific community) Oxford University epidemiologist Professor Sunetra Gupta, (remember that name for later) among the most vocal proponents of a ‘herd immunity’ strategy.

In startling testimony before a parliamentary inquiry on Wednesday, despite its previous rejection of this strategy.

Speaking before the House of Commons Science and Technology Committee, Dr Mary Ramsay, Head of Immunisation at Public Health England, said that the UK will need to “allow the disease to circulate in younger people where it’s not causing much harm” while protecting “the people who are really vulnerable”, if the vaccine fails to sufficiently slow or prevent transmission of COVID-19. She also suggested that it may not be feasible to vaccinate the entire UK population, contrary to assurances earlier this week from Health Secretary Matt Hancock.

Only it didn’t stop there.
Boris Johnson’s political party had been running the National Health Service into the ground for years and it was woefully equipped to cope with the pandemic in terms of facilities, equipment, and staff.

WHY? Money of course, what else!

Populist policies. Easter, Summer, Tourism, and Christmas.
Who would be brave enough to tell the ill-informed masses that staying at home and cancelling everything would save their lives. That and tell the big money that lives mattered not their profit margins. Then enforce it with law enforcement and the military of necessary.

In November, Johnson told people in England that up to three families would be able to mix for five days over the festive period. WOW!

And anyone with half a brain cell thought it the recipe for:

Anyway, it sure as hell wasn’t going to be our pudgy little turd of a Prime Minister Boris Johnson who didn’t have the political weight or guts to cancel everything even though free movement within and out of his lines (Tiers) drawn on a map would inevitably spread the disease all around the country.

So everyone came out to play, including the virus.
Only the same mistake was continued and all routes in and out of the UK remained open with no screening process.

A group of 26 British skiers is in isolation in a French resort after 16 tested positive for Covid. Described as gap-year students who paid £8,900 each for the 10-week ski course, arrived in France by road, air or train between January 13 and 17.

Obvious to say, but if the UK borders had been closed, this wouldn’t have happened. Various media are also reporting that some of them tried to get on a train in London, complete with skis, but were stopped.
Whoever did that, WELL DONE!

Somewhat more than the anonymous Marines 100 but if you’re going to clean out the swamp, unlike the US, the numbers of guilty are considerably lower.

Yet will that single act cure everything?
Nope. But it’ll make for GREAT TV!

Meanwhile the woke, cancel culture, anti vaxx, anti whatever, plus the usual mob (whose name cannot be mentioned for fear of the closure of social media), and ignorant self entitlement that is rife among the UK’s sheeple, plus big business, will keep on spreading the virus.

Is this country lost?
First impression is yes as they can’t even get the immunization process right and are wasting vaccines by not following the first jab with the second LOCK IN vaccination within the time frames detailed in the drugs approval.

The story started 19 days ago.
I fell ill with what turned out to be a life threatening infection.
It took 3 days to get someone to phone me from the doctors surgery.
I needed an urgent blood test. The wait for that was TWO WEEKS.
Could I go to the hospital and get it done there?
No, because of COVID that wasn’t allowed.
This weekend things got so bad I phoned the emergency service and they made me an appointment for this Monday to go to an urgent care center. UCC
Why not over the weekend?
Because ALL urgent care centers are closed over the weekend to ‘help with COVID’. Monday morning and I’m definitely in trouble.
Went to the UCC no doctors. Where are they? COVID.
A nurse dispensed some antibiotics.

I took one and got back into the car.
We hadn’t got 10 minutes from there and I told my wife I needed the hospital as I guessed I was having an allergic reaction to the antibiotic.

Add a 20 minute drive.
To 20 questions on whether I’m showing symptoms of COVID.
I lost it, and said if they didn’t get someone to see me IMMEDIATELY I was going to collapse right in front of the main desk.

For some reason I was escorted into a treatment room, and all hell broke out.
The allergic reaction wasn’t the antibiotics but the painkillers I had taken WITH the antibiotics.

Bottom line, for the rest of the day I was prodded, pushed, and stabbed, scanned, examined by FOUR doctors, two technicians, and one consultant, until they were certain they had worked out WTH was going on.

Bottom line? I’m sat here, still sore, still taking the pills, (in smaller handfuls) and mighty peed off about the lack of care for NON COVID INCIDENTS AND ILLNESSES.

Only it seems I’m not alone.
While waiting for the next stab, push, probed, and whatever, the ANGER in the waiting rooms was at times loud and aggressive. To that end, security was everywhere!

This one hospital now has to cope with around 1200 emergency patients A DAY as the other three regional ones are dedicated solely to COVID.

By government decree, all routine screening, all surgery, clinics, outpatients, you name it, in hospitals and what is handled by the local doctors surgery is not happening.

Cancer treatment has largely stopped, but I didn’t check about renal patients. So, as a result, people are getting REALLY ill before heading for the hospital as this one haven now covers 2400 sq miles.

Only here’s another tit bit.
The average time patients are handed over from an ambulance into a Covid hospital in our area is EIGHT HOURS. Thus, for 8 hours, that ambulance and crew is unavailable for emergency cover!

Yet we are still subjected to the fools who think Covid is a joke.
A government that wants all lock downs to be ended by Easter.
And the much FAMED vaccination process is not going to work as they have extended the second jab time to way outside what works to lock the immunization into your system.

And there is another snippet that has hit the news today.
WAY BACK IN MARCH of last year, the Home Secretary (arguably the second most important political figure in our dysfunctional system of government) wanted all ports, air, and trains (via the Channel Tunnel) closed to all incomers or those transiting to other places.

And the Muppet Government, led by Boris Johnson, shouted that request down. Why? I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it.

Money is all that matters to this government NOT LIVES.

As the tally of dead keeps rising to yesterdays total of 93,250 from Covid and:

The number of deaths registered in England and Wales was 17,751 deaths were registered in the week ending 8 January 2021 (Week 1), 7,682 more deaths than in the preceding week (Week 53) (ONS)

That’s all deaths for one week.
Math time. 17,751 x 52 weeks? 923,952 for this year.
A slice of which will be from avoidable deaths by delaying treatments for avoidable illnesses.

Meanwhile:-

I’m thinking we could solve a number of problems in the UK by following the ideals of the anonymous Marine.

Pointless Headline as it solves NOTHING

UK to get 10,000,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine that is 90% effective.

Realistically 68 million.
Quoted by UKGov, 66 million.

What that means is there will be something like 56-58 MILLION walking around, unprotected, with some 1.2 million infected and capable of spreading the virus.

So how exactly is this anything even close to being labelled “GOOD”?

Give everyone the vaccine from age zero to our oldest and THEN you can start with the ‘Happy, Happy, we’re all saved!’ headlines.

The money is panicking in the UK.

And are exerting HUGE political pressure on our Muppet of a PM Johnson using the ‘weak in mind’ from it’s own party MP’s and the opposition Labor party, to do away with any form of restrictions on movement, social distancing, how businesses operate, and especially on free movement of the general sheeple (public).

I am seeing this as they are desperate to make a quick buck BEFORE everyone gets too ill. The end result will be the same. A collapse of the economy, closure of old established names, but with a massive list of deaths from their greed.

With a UK Gov declared (but well massaged) death total of 42,515. That still makes us the death capital of Europe.

So, SWMBO and I were discussing what it all meant and how it would affect us considering that the NHS (National Health Service) will probably collapse within the first few weeks, along with the supply chains and probably the financial institutions.

• NHS?
  Not surprising if it does fail and it’s already worried about drugs and PPE. Let alone staffing levels.
• Supply Chains?
  Our stocks are well up.
  As I’m currently eating like a small mouse, 90 days is doable.
• Financial Institutions?
  That’s the scary one.
  What pathetic savings we have would be highly vulnerable if the government or events shut down the banking system. We also live on a fixed income. If that was compromised, we would run out of folding stuff within 14 days.
• PPE?
  Mentioned above, it continues to be a major issue for us.
  We CANNOT buy FFP3 or P98 / P100 masks ANYWHERE.
  Cheap, single use stuff yes BUT a box of 100 would only last 30-50 days at the most.
  We have however developed a home made ‘two layer plus HEPA filter’ mask. How good it is we simply don’t know BUT the methodology is sound.
• A Vaccine.
  There is the real possibility of no vaccine in the near future.
• Exit Strategy (Bug Out)
  Currently we don’t have a safe strategy if things get really bad locally simply because there is nowhere safe to run to.
  Thus we are going to have to shelter in place for the foreseeable future.

Anyway, one word kept cropping up in my mind. SNAFU.
That and the first two on the list who should bear most, if not all of the blame, has got to be Big Business and their weenies we call Members of Parliament aka UK’s Central Government.

And that dear reader REALLY SUCKS!

Headline Amazon

Mm. I suppose it’s not much of a surprise given the overall numbers of infected in America BUT it does add support to my thoughts on BIG IS NOT ALWAYS GOOD.

Which bring about an interesting thought following a series I’ve been watching on globalisation and why slowbalisation (the withdrawal from extended supply chains) is creeping into big business big time. After all with essential key components or sub assemblies scattered all over the world, all it takes is one producer or transport failure and everything grinds to a halt. So more ‘big business’ are concentrating on local production of what they need. Sort of.

Discussing this the conclusion was the UK, in it’s present form, couldn’t revert back to small machine or assembly shops as globalisation shut them down years ago AND most of their raw material and sub assemblies, is imported.

The main problem though is when they shut down, years of experience went into new occupations or simply left the UK taking their skills with them.

Yet it goes further than that. I said recently that the manufacturing base in the UK had been in decline for years, and I still think that. We make very little and assembly was our main business until that slipped away following the world financial collapse on 2008. Vehicles are still being assembled here but I can see that moving back to it’s home countries to avoid the long supply chain delays and COVID problems.

Aside from that we do not mine much, have few other natural resources, and no skills to revive much of what we did have.

Gloomy? Perhaps, but in the 80’s finding a job was easy when you had skills, into the 90’s you found yourself replaced by cheap EU labor.
The 2000’s with their financial crashes, just about everything small manufacturing, and not a service industry, collapsed and we are paying for that now with the COVID disruptions.

I am concerned about it as our usual retailers readily complain abut extended delivery times and little support. It’s also wide ranging, from wood to nails, to chemicals, clothing, but curiously not fresh produce, although that will change come Jan 1 2021 with FREEDOM from the EU. (ROTFL, as if).

Or, as one sage put it, “Be careful what you wish for”.

Yet there is a glimmer of hope in the form of an ex-mil, now politician,  Tobias Ellwood. He stood up and said:-

“Mass vaccine rollout is an enormous responsibility, and we need to get it right,” Ellwood said. “I stress that there is huge scope for this to go wrong if we do not start to plan now,” he added.

The politician told the House that he has written to Johnson urging him to use the Ministry of Defence and the army to set up regional distribution hubs as well as to develop a “national database to track progress and issue the vaccination certificates.”

In further eyebrow raising remarks, Ellwood outlined that life will return to normal for those who get the vaccine, whereas those who don’t will still be “subject to social distancing rules.” I believe that the biggest challenge will be in managing the transition period – potentially up to a year – when parts of our society have been liberated from the threat ​of Covid-19 and seek to return to normality, but those who have yet to be vaccinated are still subject to social distancing rules,”

Which actually fk’s us short term as our local health service is a POS with a stethoscope. Having said that, nothing is insurmountable.

I have ZERO PROBLEM with this being enacted.

No jab, no travel, and restrictions on your life if you don’t.
I’m sick to death with the idiots who have contributed to the spread of the virus constantly bleating on about their freedoms.

The military mind SOLVES practical problems while civilians sit painting their toenails. If implemented, it could get us back to normal within a year. That is our glorious leader (Muppet PM Boris Johnson) manages to grow a pair, and a brain cell, and starts listening to commonsense.

That and stops hiding whenever anyone says “Boo” in his general direction. Am I saying he has zero moral fiber? Yep, as well as lacking EVERYWHERE else.

When freedom of movement kills

The UK Gov bars movement back into, through the UK, or imposes a sort of lack lustre self quarantine on travellers and holiday makers from infected countries ignoring one simple fact.

We let our infected spread the virus in the first place by letting our citizens leave this country infected, untested, or controlled in their movements in any way once outside of our country.

Why? Tourism, Trade, and the Airline business.

So what I’d like to see is GLOBAL bans imposed on the UK REFUSING ENTRY OR TRANSIT to elsewhere for anyone who flies out of the UK, uses a ferry, ship or the Channel Tunnel.

Until? Either a vaccine is developed and deployed to EVERYONE IN THE UK, or the UK Gov stops putting money before humankind’s safety.

The vaccine? With that sort of shutdown imposed, I’ve a feeling one would be approved by Christmas of this year and deployed EVERYWHERE by March.

As for waiting for the UK Gov to do the right thing?
Probably never.

With a growing number of infected kids in schools that then go home to endanger their parents, and onward through them. The Gov needs to test EVERYONE with kids on a weekly basis. Except they won’t and their lies about testing numbers have been exposed along with the inadequate capacity to process those results.

However , I’m not quite done.
To all you POS that are crying, “I’d rather have COVID-19 than lose my freedoms?” Do us all a favor and drop dead before you infect too many innocent’s.

This is not a joke, a point worth making, a human rights issue, this is LIFE OR DEATH, and while you obviously don’t value your own life, stop endangering others. If of course you don’t like that idea, (and this is a great money saver for the government), give them a one way holiday ticket out of the UK, and stop all benefits for them for at least a year.

The office of national statistics report dated 25 September 2020.
An estimated 103,600 people (95% credible interval: 85,600 to 123,400) within the community population in England had the coronavirus (COVID-19) during the most recent week, from 13 to 19 September 2020, equating to around 1 in 500 people (95% credible interval: 1 in 600 to 1 in 400).

Everything is out of control and it’s no good the Muppet we call PM Boris Johnson saying it’s the people’s fault when it was HIM WHO RELEASED THE LOCK DOWN ACROSS THE COUNTRY WITH LITTLE THOUGHT ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES.
